New year

I read an interesting article today about New Year's resolutions - about how instead of taking things away from yourself - giving up smoking/drinking etc - it talked about to add to yourself; to accomplish things, to learn new skills - to become a more diverse and rounded individual.

As such I've decided to do just that and I'm already well on the way - on the third day of the New Year I have completed Crysis. In truth, there's very little to say about it - I enjoyed it, my computer handled it (while struggling on occasion) and it had some good set pieces and amazing graphics.

What this post is for, however, is to highlight the games I want to finish over the coming months and serve as a reminder to me to play less Football Manager and actually finish them:





Dragon Age - I'm 10 or so hours into this and, as with Mass Effect before it, it's dialogue heavy, consequence light (so far) and pretty enjoyable. Saying that - I don't expect to be blown away by the end of the game.

Bully - Nigh on unplayable on a keyboard I've struggled my way through the controls and am quite enjoying this one. The voice acting isn't as sharp as I've come to expect from previous Rockstar efforts but the sense of humour and writing is pretty great so far.

Far Cry 2 - I've yet to start this; but Ben Abraham's 'Permanent Death' was what got me to buy it during the steam sale.

Planescape: Torment - The big one. I've heard so much and played so little. The music, writing, sparse voice work and mood are all amazing and with a story, that I'm told, is something rather special; this is the one I want to finish more than anything else.

There's many more of course - I could say the recently purchased Stranger's Wrath (I need a gamepad), the perpetually backlogged Beyond Good and Evil, the untouched Machinarium or the entire season of Monkey Island but I fear the list would be too long and thoroughly upsetting.


Also - from my original post on the 5th of November I've noticed I had 104 games on steam. I now have 154.....
